The Eatable Digestive System |
Sometimes it helps reinforce what we have learned if we build a physical model. In this activity you will build a model of the digestive system mainly out of food items. Remember, this is only a model, it is not exactly like the real organs of digestion. Once you have completed your model and before you eat any of it, investigate what the organs actually look like inside and out. Compare them to your model. Make a chart of the similarities and differences. |

Using the a items listed on this page or others you have available, construct a digestive system beginning with the mouth and ending with the large intestines. |

Explain your model to your group and/or the rest of the class. |

Now compare your model to the real digestive organs. You may need to do some library research or look things up on the Internet. |
