Grape Analogy

To build on the models you and your classmates have suggested, I would like to suggest that the inside of the lungs might look like millions of tiny grape clusters.

How is this similar to the cul-de-sac model and the broccoli models students suggested?

Your teacher will give each group a cluster of plastic grapes. Inspect the grapes carefully and see if you can describe a way that they might be like the inside of the lungs.

Remember, this is an analogy just like the ear of corn was an analogy. The grapes are much larger than the inside structures in the lungs but serve as a model for how they might look under the microscope.
