Investigation 2.0

Introduction

Recall from the last chapter on energy that you determined that the body needs energy to carry out all activities, even sleeping. You also suggested some ideas about where this energy might come from. In this chapter we will be investigating this further.

Remember the desert island activity? Why were you losing weight even though you had plenty of clean air, fresh water, and sunlight?

What was the body missing?

SHARE, COMPARE, DISCUSS, CONSENSUS

As you share your ideas with your group ask yourself these questions:

How are they different or the same as those of your partners?

Ask questions of other members to help everyone try to come up with a group model. Draw this on your whiteboard.

When your teacher directs you, show your whiteboard to the rest of the class and explain your drawing.
