Surface Area Activities

1. Make a drawing that illustrates how dramatically surface area can
increase when an object is divided into smaller pieces.
2. Research to find out what other organs other than the small intestines,
has a large surface area in comparison to their size. Why do these organs
need a large surface area?
3. List ways in which surface area affects how you do things in every day
life. For example, why do you hang up a wet bathing suit instead of
rolling it up in a ball to dry?
